Running has been a part of my life for more than 30 years as well. It's the best kept secret out there. If we could bottle and sell "Runn'er's High", it would kick-ass on heroin or any other drug out there. I have written about running in other posts. It's part of my heart, soul, and occasionally links me back to my own sanity.
I love that this woman has found peace in running. These days, I also run to find peace from heroin. It is my way to get relief from the regret, fear, and other mind-numbing thoughts that cycle through my brain daily. My own thoughts are often regarding hindsight. I ponder all the many historical factors that might have primed my son to be a heroin addict.
Could've, would've, should've. Maybe just run.
