It is the heroin-meth combo that is becoming increasingly common. More and more heroin addicts are adding meth to the mix.

The resurgence of meth use is believed, by experts, to be fueled by the opioid crisis. More and more people are becoming addicted to opioids, then switch to heroin, then have to add meth merely to function in their normal lives.

The almighty power of opioids is not slowing down. We need more conversations. We need to get real. We need to recognize, as a nation, how profound this epidemic is. The experts know it and those of us in the trenches know it but there is certainly a delay throughout the rest of society, who believes they are unaffected by it.

I get it. I would never have believed it would knock at my own front door.

When you find yourself in this hell, it feels like a fucking tsunami. There is very little forewarning and all of the sudden it is on top of you, consuming you and threatening to kill someone you love most in the world, and all you can do is ride and pray.

I know Sam was fond of combining heroin and meth. He was on both the night he overdosed.

Where there is life, there is hope. Always in Gratitude. #nomoreshame
