GED Complete!!!

Sam just called to tell me he has passed his final GED exam!

Words cannot express how proud I am right now. I don't actually remember the last time I cried tears of joy over Sam. It feels pretty amazing.

HOPE. INSPIRATION. PROGRESS. I heard that in his voice today. I don't know if he has ever before radiated a true sense of pride. He really did today. He finally sees the value of accomplishment.

I did not know if I would ever have anything to celebrate with Sam. I feel joy I haven't known in a very long time.

"They" (who are "they" anyway?) say that a mom is only as happy as her saddest or sickest child. Perhaps it should not be true but I have come to realize it just simply is. At least for me. Today is a really great day. I am going to just enjoy it.

I have been working on a separate post but realized this great news deserves a simple "Thank you God" all on its own.
