A Formerly Unpublished Thought From Sometime in 2020

If hugging Sam tonight was the last action I ever took in my life, it would be okay. Something inside me shifted tonight. It was one of the best moments of my life. "They" say to make sure to hold onto those moments and never take them for granted. I have learned that lesson many times during Sam's addiction, overdose, and incarceration. Every moment I have with Sam is an eternal gift. Time that almost wasn't and time that is still constantly threatened by heroin.
